Gemini AI Storybook and Reading Roo App

Google has launched Gemini Storybook which allows parents to use the power of AI to create personalized, illustrated stories with read-aloud narration for your children.  

You can create AI-generated bedtime stories with illustrations, or turn cherished memories of your photos into a 10-page storybook that you can read, listen to, print, and share.

Gemini Storybook can create stories from photos, documents, and files in your native language (over 45 languages are supported).

Here are some sample prompts to create an AI storybook from the Gemini Storybook team:

EXAMPLE 1: "Create a storybook about my son’s stuffed animal rhino named Rumble. Make it a swashbuckling adventure with buried treasure."

EXAMPLE 2: "Create a storybook to help my 6 year old understand that we’re moving to Cincinnati in September. She loves zebras, purple, and pizza."

EXAMPLE 3: "Create a storybook that explains the solar system to my 5 year old."

EXAMPLE 4: "My 10 year old daughter just came back from visiting her grandmother in Michigan. Here are a few pictures of her time spent there. Create a storybook about their special adventure."

Once the storybook is generated, unfortunately you cannot edit the text, but instead you can ask Gemini to refine and regenerate the story. 

Gemini Storybook is available to all Gemini users over the age of 18, so parents can easily create storybooks for their children.

If you are unable to use Gemini Storybook, an alternative AI Storybook you can use to read to your children is the Reading Roo app. 

Reading Roo can turn any English, Spanish or French text from books or documents into a fun interactive reading activity. Scan a page, tap on the text and Reading Roo will magically read the text out aloud while highlighting the words.
